Sandra Nesbitt has lived in Athens for 28 years, having moved here from California, where she had taught high school and middle school English and history and had taught ESL at Arthur Hapgood Elementary school.  Sandra graduated Summa Cum Laude from Morningside College with a BA in both English and History.  She also received an M.A. in English from U.C.L.A. and a Master of Applied Linguistics from Ohio University, also graduating Summa Cum Laude.  Upon arrival  in Athens, Ms. Nesbitt became an Ohio Realtor, working with John White for two years.  Sandra then went back to teaching, her lifelong passion.   She taught in the Ohio Program of Intensive English (OPIE), serving as an English teacher to non-English speakers, from 1996-2018.  She then took real estate classes and began working with Hayes Real Estate in 2018.  After almost three years with that office, Sandra transferred to Collins Realty and Auctions the summer of 2021.
 
Sandra is currently an elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Athens, a member of Athens Rotary Club, a member of AFAN—Athens Friends and Newcomers,  a member and former president of Athens Reading Club, and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in Athens, and a member of the National Association of Realtors, Ohio Association of Realtors, and the Athens County Board of Realtors.
 
Previously, Ms. Nesbitt  served as a board member of the Guild of O’Blenness Hospital, a board member of Ohio Valley Summer Theater, the vice-president of AFAN, a member of Athens Garden Club, a fundraiser for many organizations, the founder of the  Athens Middle School PTO, and  Athens High School PTO and Academic Booster Presidents and Vice President, amongst many other activities.
 
She is the proud wife of Neal J. Nesbitt, M.D., the proud mother of two talented children and  the proud grandmother of three terrific grandchildren.
